Switzerland Description
The Intercantonal Reinsurance Association (IRV in German: "Interkantonale Rückversicherungsverband") provides the Public Insurance Companies for Real Estate (KVG in German: "Kantonalen Gebäudeversicherungen") with reinsurance services in the areas of fire and natural disasters.
The reinsurance of the IRV covers the major risks to which KGVs are exposed and compensates for fluctuations in long-term damage patterns. Thanks to the IRV, the KGVs can optimize their claims settlement. This unique system of solidarity ensures effective risk compensation among participants.

Operating and financial results
The 2022 financial year was largely marked by the negative evolution of the capital markets. Investments in capital resulted in a loss of 101.9 million francs. This loss is partially compensated by the pleasing result of the insurance business.
