Schweizerischer Pool für Erdbebendeckung (SPE) Title
Schweizerischer Pool für Erdbebendeckung (SPE)
Description Schweizerischer Pool für Erdbebendeckung
The Swiss Earthquake Pool (SPE in German: “Schweizerische Pool für Erdbebendeckung”) provides a maximum of CHF 2 billion per calendar year in the event of an earthquake.
Thanks to this system, the Public Insurance Companies for Real Estate concerned can at least partially cover the damage and thus support affected building owners, in the event of a major earthquake. However, this protection is barely sufficient in case of a severe earthquake. Therefore, the SPE is also committed to compulsory earthquake insurance.
